The Secret of Delicacy

Background Information

The egg noodles Yangyang makes, tasting exactly as she remembers her mother's did.

Back in her hometown, Yangyang's schedule was always packed to the brim. Still unsure of where her path would lead, she was constantly trying to squeeze out every last second, desperate to add any edge that might carry her forward. But no matter how late she came home from vocal lessons, walking back under a starlit sky, a steaming bowl of egg noodles was always waiting for her on the table. Sometimes there would be two bowls, which meant her father had also worked late into the night. And sometimes, there would be three, because her older sister, who was supposed to be fast asleep, would inevitably catch the scent of the noodles and coax her mother into making her a midnight meal.

To Yangyang, that bowl of egg noodles means home, love, and all the quiet warmth folded into everyday life.

It's the flavor that carried her all the way to where she is now, and the exact taste she wishes to pass on to someone special, someday.
