Character Items

  • "A New Journey" item icon

    "A New Journey"

After passing the entrance exam, Lynae received her very own acceptance letter, officially becoming a student of Startorch Academy. Once, a similar sheet of paper began an unknown journey. Now, this one marks her first true opportunity to choose her own path and her place of belonging.

  • "Unsanctioned" Mod Kit item icon

    "Unsanctioned" Mod Kit

A kit packed with all kinds of motorcycle mods and functional add-ons, including but not limited to a fireworks-launching module, folding glider wings, and a sidecar-mounted noodle cooker... Any single item is enough to send Mr. S.I.G.M.A. into a full-blown system alarm sprint. "I only built them to test the idea! I never actually installed them on a real vehicle!" That's Lynae's standard defense when the chaotic contents of her dorm are inevitably discovered.

  • Cactus Pillow item icon

    Cactus Pillow

A gift from a student Lynae once helped, given to welcome her to the Academy, said to be a classic design from her favorite New Federation road movie. Soft, green, and shaped like a cactus, it is entirely thornless, resting not on sandy grit but on the plush bedding of her dorm bed. It stands silent guard over every vivid, colorful dream… if you can look past its uniquely expressive face. "Hm? This pillow? It's cute! And it's the limited re-release version!"

Skill Priority

5

Forte Circuit

Her Forte Circuit is the primary source of her damage output and also makes up around half of her actual gameplay loop. Upgrade this first.

4

Resonance Liberation

Lynae's Liberation is her secondary strongest burst damage skill. Upgrade this second, after her Forte.

3

Normal Attack

Lynae's Normal Attacks will be quite important in generating the necessary Overflow and Lumiflow stacks for her Forte, as well as entering Kaleidoscopic Parade. Upgrade this to increase her overall damage, but prioritize her more important skills first.

3

Resonance Skill

Lynae's Resonance Skill provides decent additional damage and will be used quite a bit in her rotations. You can focus on upgrading this once her Forte and Liberation are done.

1

Intro Skill

Her Intro Skill is pretty negligible, as it doesn't deal much damage. It's used more as a utility tool and an opener for her other skills, making this a non-priority. Upgrade this last, if at all.

Forte Circuit

Basic Attack - Polychrome Leap

Deal Spectro DMG and inflict Photochromic Flux on targets hit.

Requirements: While in Kaleidoscopic Parade, with at least 1/3 of the max Lumiflow, Jump is replaced by Basic Attack - Polychrome Leap. Consume 1/3 of the max Lumiflow.

Basic Attack - Iridescent Splash

Deal Spectro DMG and inflict Photochromic Flux on targets hit.

Requirements: During Kaleidoscopic Parade, when Lynae is in mid-air with 3 points of True Color, and Basic Attack - Visual Impact is on cooldown, press Normal Attack or Resonance Skill. Consumes 3 points of True Color.

Basic Attack - Visual Impact

Deal Spectro DMG, inflict Photochromic Flux, and grant all nearby Resonators in the team 40 points of Tune Break Boost for 30s.

Requirements: During Kaleidoscopic Parade, when Lynae is in mid-air with 3 points of True Color, and this skill is not on cooldown, press Normal Attack or Resonance Skill. Consumes 3 points of True Color.

Spectro Sub-DPS Build Details

Best Weapon: Spectrum Blaster
Alternative Weapons: Phasic Homogenizer, Static Mist, Solar Flame
Notes: Lynae is best built as a sub-DPS that offers amazing damage numbers on her own on top of being an excellent buffer. Her buffs are quite general, providing an All DMG Amplification that essentially lets her fit and even improve many teams. She takes advantage of the new Pact of Neonlight Leap set in Lahai-Roi, but if you don't have the proper echoes yet, you can use Moonlit Clouds as a placeholder Sonata Effect. For her stats, she benefits the most from Crit, Spectro DMG, and ATK. Get these for her main stats and roll for more Crit and ATK with her sub-stats. Aside from these, she mainly scales off Basic Attack DMG and you'd want to get around 120% ER for consistent rotations.

Best Echo Sets

1
pact_of_neonlight_leap echo set icon

Pact of Neonlight Leap

5 pieces

This is the best for a sub-DPS Lynae, as it increases her buffing capabilities even more, letting the main DPS deal as much damage as possible. Furthermore, Hyvatia gives the next Resonator an additional All-Type DMG buff, fitting this playstyle overall.

2
moonlit_clouds echo set icon

Moonlit Clouds

5 pieces

Moonlit Clouds is a general sub-DPS option that she can utilize, and is the second best option for the Sub-DPS Lynae if you are in the process of farming for the new set. It provides Energy Regen and additional ATK to the next Resonator, making it pretty viable and just slightly worse than her other sets.

3
rite_of_gilded_revelation echo set icon

Rite of Gilded Revelation

5 pieces

The third best option for Lynae is the new Spectro-focused set, as it increases her own damage output. She benefits a lot from both Spectro DMG and Basic Attack DMG, which it provides. Furthermore, this set also includes Hyvatia, letting her get additional buffs to the next Resonator.

Recommended Main Echoes

Best option for Lynae. Summon-type Echo, allowing Lynae to be flexible in casting it within her own combos. Deals Spectro DMG, synergizing with her Attribute type. Grants an additional 10% All-Type DMG Bonus to the next Resonator upon using Intro Skill, boosting her supportive capabilities.
Second option for Lynae if you have Moonlit Clouds. Increases damage dealt to next Resonator. Transform-type Echo, requiring the Skill to be weaved into her Combos. Deals Havoc DMG with two variations. Gives additional Resonance Energy to Lynae.
Summon-type Echo, making it easy to input with her Combos. Grants Lynae additional Resonance Skill DMG, which is a nice-to-have but isn't her primary damage type. Inflicts Spectro DMG to enemies based on Lynae's Resonance Skill DMG.

  • Use <b>Hyvatia</b> as main echo for maximum support, as it provides an additional All-Type DMG buff on Intro Skill.
  • In the Sub-DPS build, prioritize <b>Pact of Neonlight Leap</b> set to maximize team damage.
  • In the Main DPS build, <b>Rite of Gilded Revelation</b> set boosts her personal damage significantly.
  • Her Forte Circuit and Resonance Liberation are her main damage sources; upgrade them first.
  • She can switch between Resonance Modes to apply Tune Rupture or Tune Strain effects.

Lynae Tune Rupture Team

Team Composition

Strategy

  • Start combat with Mornye by filling her Rest Mass Energy with three Basic Attacks. Then, do a Heavy Attack to enter Wide Field Observation Mode.
  • In this state, perform three Basic Attacks followed by her Resonance Skill. During its animation, you can cancel its endlag with your Liberation, generating High Syntony Field upon casting.
  • Once her High Syntony Field is deployed, quickly cast a Heavy Attack and switch to Lynae afterwards via Outro.
  • With Lynae on-field, immediately cast her Resonance Skill to max her Overflow stacks.
  • Then, use her Liberation to deal damage and generate a team-wide buff before following it up with a Basic Attack.
  • With her Overflow full, cast a Heavy Attack and charge it for 1.6s to reach max Lumiflow. Then, let go to deal damage and enter Kaleidoscopic Parade.
  • In this state, jump three times to perform three Polychrome Leaps, generating True Color stacks.
  • With three stacks, do a mid-air attack to deal big damage before switching out to Aemeath with her Outro.
  • Upon entering via Aemeath's Intro Skill, cast two Basic Attacks followed by her Resonance Liberation to gain two stacks of her Resonance Rate Forte.
  • Then, do three Basic Attacks followed by her enhanced Resonance Skill. Make sure to do this twice to get the remaining two stacks.
  • With four stacks available, hold her Heavy Attack to fill her Forte bar instantly. Lastly, cast her second instance of Resonance Liberation to deal huge damage before exiting the field via her Outro.
  • Repeat until all enemies are defeated.

Notes

Set Aemeath and Lynae to be in Tune Rupture Mode via the in-game Character Menu. Lynae's current best team is the Tune Rupture composition with Mornye and Aemeath. Aemeath is the premier Tune Rupture DPS unit, enhancing the mechanic by providing additional instances in which Tune Rupture DMG can be dealt. Lynae is the ideal sub-DPS for Aemeath, as she gives buffs to All DMG types, Resonance Liberation DMG amplification, and Tune Break Boost. Paired with Mornye, who boosts Off-Tune Buildup Rate and gives All DMG amplification of her own, they enable Aemeath to deal as much damage as possible.

Alternative Characters

Shorekeeper
Shorekeeper(Support Replacement)

Mornye Replacement

Shorekeeper is another general support unit that the team greatly benefits from. Instead of enhancing the Tune Break mechanic, Shorekeeper provides additional Crit. stats and DMG buffs that benefit all Resonators.

Iuno
Iuno(Main DPS Replacement)

Aemeath Replacement

Outside of the Tune Rupture comp, Iuno is highly viable as a DPS unit for Lynae and Mornye to support. She benefits from the extensive All DMG buffs both Resonators provide on top of Lynae's Resonance Liberation DMG amplification.

Xiangli Yao
Xiangli Yao(Main DPS Replacement)

Aemeath Replacement

Xiangli Yao generally benefits from Lynae's All DMG and Resonance Liberation DMG Amplification and can be an optimal Electro DPS instead of Iuno.

Calcharo
Calcharo(Main DPS Replacement)

Aemeath Replacement

Calcharo is a Resonance Liberation-focused DPS, making Lynae an ideal pair for him. You can replace Iuno with him to benefit from this team's hypercarry playstyle that funnels all buffs to him.

Lynae Tune Strain Team

Team Composition

Strategy

  • Initiate with Mornye by doing three Basic Attacks, then hold a Heavy Attack to enter the air and enter Wide Field Observation Mode.
  • In this state, perform three Basic Attacks followed by Resonance Skill. During its animation, you can cancel its endlag with your Liberation, generating High Syntony Field upon casting.
  • Once High Syntony Field is deployed, cast a Heavy Attack and switch to Denia via Outro.
  • As Denia enters the field, cast Basic Attack followed by Resonance Skill. Then, cast Resonance Liberation to enter the Breakdown Form.
  • In the Breakdown Form, complete a Basic Attack String, then perform two casts of her empowered Resonance Skill.
  • Afterwards, cast Denia's second Resonance Liberation to deploy Erosion Field before switching to Qingxiao with Outro Skill.
  • Upon entering via Intro, hold Qingxiao's attack button to perform a mid-air attack string followed by two grounded basic attacks.
  • Then, cast Resonance Skill to fill her Forte gauge. With full Forte, hold Heavy Attack and enter Ephemeral Transcendence.
  • In this state, hold the Heavy Attack button again to perform a full basic attack string until her secondary Forte reaches full stacks.
  • With her Forte full again, cast Heavy Attack followed by her Resonance Liberation before switching to Mornye via Outro.
  • Repeat until no enemies are left on the field.

Notes

Lynae must be set to Tune Strain Mode in the Character Skills menu. The Tune Strain team with Qingxiao as the Main DPS and Mornye as the support is viable for Lynae, as all three can respond to the Tune Strain debuff. With all of them together, the multipliers for their DMG significantly increase based on Tune Break Boost. Additionally, both Lynae and Mornye can funnel general damage buffs to Qingxiao with their All DMG Amplification and Bonuses.

Alternative Characters

Luuk Herssen
Luuk Herssen(Main DPS Replacement)

Qingxiao Replacement

Luuk Herssen can be substituted for Qingxiao. His main playstyle revolves around the same Tune Strain mechanic, increasing his DMG multipliers as the debuff ramps up.

Ciaccona
Ciaccona(Support Replacement)

Mornye Replacement

Ciaccona can be used as a sub-DPS alternative to Mornye, boosting Aero DMG for the entire party while applying Aero Erosion (DoT). She does, however, perform notably worse due to the lack of Tune Strain effects in her kit.

Mornye Replacement

Shorekeeper can be used to provide general DMG buffs for the entire team. She gives additional Crit. stats, All DMG amplification, and healing per rotation.

Lynae Glacio Chafe Team

Team Composition

Strategy

  • Start with Chisa and do one Resonance Skill followed by a Basic Attack string. Then, cast Resonance Liberation to max out her Forte.
  • Next, cast Resonance Skill followed by holding the attack button until Chisa's Forte is depleted. You may then switch out to Lynae via Outro.
  • As Lynae, quickly press Resonance Skill to fill Forte gauge. Then, press Resonance Liberation and hold Heavy Attack until her secondary Forte is full. Afterwards, let go and wait for the attack to connect.
  • Afterwards, jump three times followed by a mid-air attack. Once Concerto is full, switch to Hiyuki.
  • With Hiyuki, hold Heavy Attack to fill her Forte and wait until the attack string is completed.
  • Once Resonance Liberation is available, cast it to enter the Foreclaimed Self state.
  • In this form, build up Hiyuki's Forte gauge by performing 5 Basic Attacks. Then, press Resonance Skill.
  • After the first Resonance Skill, hold the second Resonance Skill cast to immediately enter the Iai stance, then do three instances of Basic Attack - Iai.
  • Lastly, perform a Heavy Attack and follow it up with Hiyuki's Resonance Liberation. Then, switch back to Chisa via Outro.
  • Repeat until no enemies are left on the field.

Notes

The introduction of Hiyuki opened up a new team composition for Lynae, one revolving around the Glacio Chafe mechanic. In this team, Lynae acts as the premier sub-DPS buffer for Hiyuki, who mainly scales off Resonance Liberation DMG while being able to apply and utilize Glacio Chafe stacks on her own. Meanwhile, Chisa enables Glacio Chafe to new heights by increasing the stack limit of the Negative Status, while also inflicting Havoc Bane onto enemies to reduce their DEF stats.

Lynae Sun and Moon Team

Team Composition

Strategy

  • Begin combat with Augusta and build up her Concerto Energy via her attacks. Then, switch to Lynae once her Intro is available.
  • Once Lynae enters via her Intro, immediately use her Resonance Skill to max out her Overflow stacks.
  • Afterwards, use her Liberation to deal decent damage and give a team-wide buff before following it up with a Basic Attack.
  • With her Overflow maxed out, cast a Heavy Attack and charge it for 1.6s to convert all of it to Lumiflow. Then, let go to deal damage and have her enter the Kaleidoscopic Parade state.
  • In the Parade state, jump up 3 times to perform her Polychrome Leaps and generate True Color stacks.
  • With three stacks, do an attack mid-air to cast an enhanced attack before switching to Iuno via Outro.
  • When Iuno enters via her Intro, immediately use her Resonance Skill to activate Lunar Cycle and switch between Moon States. Enter the New Moon state by jumping.
  • In the New Moon state, cast Liberation to generate maximum Sentience and consume it with three Basic Attacks and two instances of her Resonance Skill.
  • Lastly, do a Heavy Attack to generate the Full Moon Domain and switch to Augusta via Outro.
  • As Augusta, immediately do your Prowess-enhanced Heavy Attacks and cast Echo Skill for additional damage.
  • Next, cast Resonance Skill and Liberation (Tap), followed by another Heavy Attack combo to fill her Ascendancy stacks. Once available, do her 3-attack Resonance Skill combo.
  • After the plunging attack, cast and hold Liberation to enter Sworn Allegiance, pausing time for 7s. During this time, deal 9 Sunborne Slashes and cast Everbright Protector.
  • Repeat until all enemies are defeated. For additional damage, you may do one extra Heavy Attack combo (HA + BA2-4) before repeating the rotation.

Notes

Lynae improves the Augusta and Iuno team quite a bit, as she provides a lot more buffs than Shorekeeper on top of contributing her own damage to the party. While you're trading off some sustain, Iuno can keep the team afloat with her own heals and shields, with Augusta also having shields of her own. Their Outros also significantly fit each other quite well: Lynae gives 15% All DMG Amplification and 25% Resonance Liberation DMG Amplification to Iuno; Iuno gives 50% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification to Augusta; Augusta gives 15% DMG Amplification for all Attributes to Lynae.

Lynae Main DPS Team

Team Composition

Strategy

  • Initiate with Mornye and fill her Rest Mass Energy with three Basic Attacks. Then, do a Heavy Attack to enter Wide Field Observation Mode.
  • In this state, perform three Basic Attacks followed by her Resonance Skill. During its animation, you can cancel its endlag with your Liberation, generating High Syntony Field upon casting.
  • Once her High Syntony Field is up, cast a Heavy Attack before switching to Sanhua.
  • With Sanhua on-field, perform both her Resonance Skill and Liberation generate her Ice Structures. Then, detonate it with a Heavy Attack. Once her Concerto is full, switch to Lynae.
  • As Lynae, cast her Resonance Skill upon entering the field to fill her Forte quickly.
  • Follow this up with her Liberation to deploy a team-wide buff on top of dealing good Spectro DMG. Then, do a Basic Attack to cast an enhanced attack.
  • With her Forte full, cast and hold her Heavy Attack for 1.6s to convert all of her Overflow stacks into Lumiflow. Upon letting go, she will deal damage and enter the Kaleidoscopic Parade state.
  • In this state, do three Polychrome Leaps by jumping to generate True Color stacks.
  • Once she has three stacks available, do a Mid-air Attack to cast an empowered attack before switching back to Mornye.
  • Repeat until all enemies are defeated.

Notes

You can run Main DPS Lynae with Mornye to create a strong team that's quite reliant on the Off-Tune mechanic. Mornye drastically increases the Off-Tune Buildup Rate, letting Lynae trigger Tune Break more frequently. Aside from this, Mornye increases the DMG taken by enemies with Interfered Marker and can give multiple heals throughout her kit. As for Sanhua, she gives a lot of Basic Attack DMG to Lynae thanks to her Outro's Amplification of this damage type.

Character Story

1Truancy Record

In Startorch Academy's administrative system, Lynae's truancy record reads more like a colorful fantasy travelogue than a disciplinary file.

While her classmates sat in the lecture hall listening to Professor Mauclair's World Cultural History lecture, Lynae was several kilometers away, perched in a tree carefully reinforcing a nest of newly hatched Kronapuffs. While they drilled combat forms on the training grounds, she was in the Spacetrek Archive, helping a frantic Energy Sciences student recover crucial graduation data from a pile of corrupted files.

The hands once trained to grip weapons and crack security systems now wielded spray cans with the same precise, startling gentleness. Lynae simply couldn't sit still. Her curiosity tugged her from one corner of the Academy to the next, and her reasons for skipping class were always inventive.

"I was helping a senior stop her graduation project from escaping."
"I was recalibrating the cafeteria droid's seasoning algorithms. I may have accidentally triggered a system-wide strike."
"The Rimewisps in the sim pod were showing abnormal spectral fluctuations. Obviously, I had to document it!"

At first, Ms. Voss found it exhausting. That began to change. It changed with the formal commendation from the Engineering Department, crediting Lynae with safeguarding all upcoming frostlands survey equipment during a Void Storm. It changed as the suggestion box began to overflow with thank-you notes addressed to an anonymous "volunteer." It changed when Professor Mauclair, in an Energy Sciences meeting, excitedly presented a set of clear, unprecedented spectral data from a "special observation point," noting: "Provided by an anonymous student. Recommend inclusion in the curriculum."

Faced with Lynae's lengthy, bewildering, yet undeniably brilliant record, Voss could only sigh.
This girl was never in class, yet her presence was felt in every corner of the Academy. It seemed as though she was protecting the place she now called "home," in her own, unconventional way.

"…You still have to write the reflection report, you know."
"…Yes, ma'am."

Head lowered, Lynae shuffled out of the office. Still, her eyes twinkled at the familiar mix of exasperation and fondness in Ms. Voss's eyes.

2Lurking Shadows

The harbor at night loomed like a slumbering beast. She stood on the dock, her breath lost to the wind, her grip on the gun absolute. Its dark muzzle held the same cold stillness in her eyes, locked unblinkingly on the figure before her.

Even with the barrel pressed to his forehead, the "target" remained calm. A faint, taunting smile touched his lips as he met her stare.

"We both know this is just a game. And you? You're just a pawn in a much bigger lie."
"Look at you… so professional. But for what? Some fake promise? Put the gun down. Walk away. You could be anyone… anywhere."
"How long do you think you can keep hiding?"

—How long do you think you can keep hiding?

Her heart hammered. A bead of cold sweat rolled down her temple. That numb fear she thought she had long buried seized her once again.

"...Shut up."

Her own voice sounded foreign, hoarse, cracking like a stifled roar. Her finger trembled on the trigger.

"Bang—!"

The shot never left her gun, but a gunshot rang out. Lights blazed on. She flinched. The last bead of sweat fell, landing with a soft tap on the prop gun in her hands.
Then applause surged like a tidal wave.

"Cut! Yes, yes! That's it! Perfect!"
"...Lynae! That was incredible!"
"Arthus, your sound cue was early again!"

Blinking, Lynae looked around as if waking from a dream. The monochrome set began to fade. Color seemed to bleed back into the world, starting from her own palms. Her "target" approached excitedly, his expression no longer threatening but bright with admiration.

"You were amazing! Just like a real secret agent!"
"..."

—Of course, she was in the Drama Fan Club, standing in for a senior who had been injured during a field expedition. The play was adapted from a classic New Federation spy film.
Yet for a moment, she had truly felt as if she were…

"Lynae…? Are you okay?"
"…I'm fine," she said, forcing a smile and adding a theatrical wave. "Got a little too into it, hahaha. Blame Annan's script. It's just way too good!"

Laughter and chatter filled the rehearsal room again as members set out to prepare the next scene's set and props. Lynae sat in the corner as the club leader passed her a bottle of soda.

"Lynae, are you sure you don't want to join? Your acting is incredible!" the leader exclaimed, clenching his fists in excitement, "I've already got the perfect role for you at the next time at the Celebration—"
"Sorry, I think I'll pass…"
"Oh… no worries. I know you haven't joined any clubs yet, figured I'd ask. But if you ever want to, you're always welcome! You there, Germain! You can't place that prop like that!"

As the leader sprinted off to rescue the prop, Lynae's fingers tightened around the soda bottle.

—How long do you think you can keep hiding?

The words echoed again, prickling under her skin.

—How long do you think you can really stay here?

She didn't know. She didn't want to think about it.
So all she could do was live in the present and enjoy what was right in front of her.

3Shifted Winds

At first, she dismissed them as phishing emails.

They would arrive without warning. Early in the morning, between classes, late at night, or even in the middle of laughing with friends. Lines of red, indecipherable code would suddenly flash across her Terminal. Seeing it was like having her chest pierced by a sharp needle. It threads itself through her heart, her veins, even her bloodstream itself.
It took time to decode them. But when she finally restored the original message, a chill seized her from head to toe.

The Fractsidus.

Perhaps she had known from the moment she picked up that acceptance letter, but had still clung to a sliver of hope. She chose not to think too much, allowing herself to sink blissfully into a campus life far more beautiful than anything she had ever dared imagine.
—Until that "mission" arrived.

"Infiltrate the Institute's system. Retrieve and alter the parameters of the Hyvatia Detector."

She knew the significance of the New Solar Ceremony to both the Spacetrek Collective and Lahai-Roi, and she knew how critical the Hyvatia Detector was to that event. A massive conspiracy was winding its way through the shadows of Lahai-Roi. In that moment, Lynae understood with chilling clarity: what she chose to do could very well plunge Lahai-Roi into danger. She didn't believe that a runaway mercenary like her could truly threaten an organization as big as the Fractsidus. Still, the thought circled her mind relentlessly, refusing to loosen its grip.

Startorch Academy, the "utopia" beneath the frostlands, had already become her home. How much longer could she turn a blind eye and play at this "school life" with a clear conscience?
Realizing she couldn't hide forever, she made up her mind. It was time for an end.

Step one: sever her role as their "inside person."

Her finger trembled slightly as she hit send. It was the first message she had ever written as the Fractsidus's insider:

"Target data extracted. Hand-off in person."

The attached coordinates pointed to the outskirts of the Voidworm habitat. After the gunshot sounded, the Void Storm would clean up any remaining evidence for her.
Message sent, she leaned against her motorbike and looked up at Lahai-Roi's sky.
The winds had already shifted. And this time, there would be no turning back.

4Black and Gold

It was meant to be another mission. Gray, black, pale as plaster. Just another task to eliminate several individuals the New Federation had flagged as "potential threats."

Why people who had done nothing threatening still needed to disappear was never a question she was allowed to ask.

She watched the target flee in panic through the dark alley. She was not the only hunter in the dark. Thin red targeting lines wove through the air, converging, locking, before delivering a silent, absolute end.

A harsh, static-laced gasp rasped in her earpiece.

"Don't worry… I'll arrive in Lahai-Roi at the appointed time… Startorch Academy…"
"I will complete… the Grand Architect's… mission…"

Futile resistance.
By the time Lynae approached her, the last trace of life was already gone.
It should have been an ordinary mission.
But this time, something was different. A streak of gold on a fallen acceptance letter caught her eye, like a blot of paint on chalk-white plaster, a sliver of light through a crack. She couldn't look away.

"Lynae"—the name embossed on the sheet felt like fate telling a joke, half lie, half truth. She bent down, brushing away dust and bloodstains. Her dark hair caught the reflected gold, igniting something in her chest that years of numb mercenary work had never been able to extinguish: a longing for freedom.

"Are you Lynae from the New Federation?"

Faced with the teacher's question, she felt a flicker of guilt. She curled a strand of her freshly dyed hair—once dark brown, now a soft pale gold, though she had kept a few strands of her original color—and nodded, summoning her brightest smile.

"Yes."
"No need to be nervous. We know how the New Federation treats Resonators… but here in Lahai-Roi, you're completely free. Every opportunity and every piece of knowledge is open to everyone."

She stayed quiet as the teacher flipped through the student file she had casually filled. She had assumed many disguises for missions, yet none had ever made her feel this tense.

"Hm? The 'Hobbies and Interests' section is blank…"

Not good. She should have written something... Graffiti, maybe? She did enjoy leaving a few flourishes of paint after a mission, a habit picked up from a movie, but a mercenary couldn't leave traces, so she always wiped them clean. Motorcycles, then? Nothing but the wind roaring in her ears as she sped down an open road, leaving a trail of pure, vivid color. Did those even count as "hobbies"?

"It's alright." Seeing her drift into thought, the long-haired woman with the hat closed the file. She smiled and placed a brand-new student ID card into her palm.

"You can take your time discovering them here."

5Where the Story Begins

Life after re-enrolling didn't feel all that different from before.

The first morning class still made her nod off despite her best efforts, though she had long mastered the art of feigning studious note-taking just before the teacher's sharp gaze found her. She had already taken this exact class before, written these same notes… So really, her drowsiness was perfectly justified.
Her breaks were still packed: helping Engineering seniors test new engines, crafting flashy "transition effects" for the Drama Fan Club's stage, and yes, still writing the occasional reflection report…

What was different, however, was getting to drag along the person who used to be her "junior" to stand in the cafeteria queue with her, and try out some "new flavors" together.
Since enrollment, {Male=he;Female=she} had been even busier. This was one of their rare moments together. Now the two of them sat shoulder to shoulder on a bench in Stargram Plaza, sharing a can of the new "Canned Surprise" flavor Lynae had insisted on buying.
In the past, silence would make her anxious. She would rush to fill it with tasks or chatter. Now, it felt warm. Comfortable.
Lynae turned to look at that ever-composed profile beside her, only to see those golden eyes widen slightly after a particularly… surprising taste. She burst out laughing. It reminded her of the first time they met—{Male=he;Female=she} had worn almost the exact same expression.

Back then, Lynae had no idea whether {PlayerName}, who had literally fallen straight from the sky, had witnessed the exact moment she carried out her plan. She had watched {Male=him;Female=her} get back up from the ground, her finger instinctively tightening on the trigger. But the cold ruthlessness in her eyes vanished the instant she saw a fallen acceptance letter drift down between them. In that moment, she realized—

—She was no longer the "mercenary" moving through shadows. She was just a student now. Someone who wanted nothing more than to live a free life.
She stashed the weapon at once, breaking out in a cold sweat. Had she just crashed into a new student? That would look even worse on her record than her abysmal attendance! If {Male=he;Female=she} refused to forgive her, she was done for!

So she reached out immediately, hauling {PlayerName} upright and dragging {Male=him;Female=her} onto the back seat of her motorbike. And in the same moment, a Voidworm writhed across the ground, primed to unleash its malign intent on them both.

She didn't know it then, but the story that truly belonged to Lynae had already begun at that very moment.

Voice Lines

Thoughts: I

Hey, you! Brought you some snacks. Nice day, huh? Whaddya say we get some scorch marks on the road? Oh, and I heard the cafeteria is serving some weird new dish. We should try it for lunch! Oh yeah, I also heard the Film Club is screening an old New Federation film this afternoon that I've always wanted to watch! Interested? And then tonight we could... Oh. Uh, yeah, my bad. Should I...? Yeah, I'll let you keep sleeping.

Thoughts: II

New spray cans, odd parts for my seniors, candy from Sigrika... Just a few souvenirs from the last school event. Yeah, just tidying up. You barely notice it happening, then all of a sudden you look around and your room's full of this stuff. Can't bring myself to toss any of it. Weird, right? There was a time I wouldn't even let myself have a potted plant. I'd just have to leave it behind anyway, ya know? Oh, I've got you something. Here. I finished painting this Exostrider model yesterday. Not bad, huh? Looks just like the real thing.

Thoughts: III

When I first got to <te href=851069>Startorch</te>, I used to wake up in a cold sweat... wondering if I could really just live like this. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. I was chasing this fragile, perfect idea of freedom all day, and then running from my old self in my dreams at night. Just... waiting for the bill to come. So I started making every choice like it was my last day here. "What would I do if this were it?" Yeah, and looking back, I guess the answer was almost always... "skip class."

Thoughts: IV

I can tell, you know. Even if you don't say it. The weight of your past is a lot heavier than anyone knows. Hey, if you wanted to tell me about it, I'd be all ears. But I won't dig. The you I know and want to understand is the you standing right here. It's just... hauling that around must get heavy, right? So if there ever comes a day where you just want to drop it all, forget who you're supposed to be, and just... breathe... Let me know. I've got a few channels to set you up with a whole new look and story. Whatever identity you wanna try on for size, I can make it happen. Well... as long as it's not too crazy. But judging by that look on your face, I think I already know what your answer's gonna be.

Thoughts: V

I never could put down roots in my merc life. Anywhere. So I built my whole thing on taking what I could get in the moment. Little indulgences, you could say. That way, whenever I had to bail, I knew I'd gotten everything out of it. And now? Honestly? I still feel the same way. The difference is... that gnawing fear of losing it all? It's gone. Every day here is just... good. I just want to pour everything I've got into appreciating that. I guess what I'm trying to say is... next time we go for a joyride, let me drive. Just like the day we first met.

Lynae's Hobby

Custom paint jobs, skating, parkour, FPS games.... Hard to pick a favorite, but I'd put the feeling of a full throttle under the skies of Lahai-Roi in first place. Lately though, my list of hobbies has been out of control. There's just too much cool stuff to try. Wait... Overflowing Palette? What's that? Heh, now you gotta tell me!

Lynae's Trouble

Back in the day, it was all about my cover getting blown, or the Fractsidus pulling new crap, or dealing with moving on to someplace new... But now... Ugh. My biggest headache is figuring out how I'm gonna dig myself out of this credit deficit...

Favorite Food

Lemme let you in on a little secret. Everything tastes amazing when you're eating it in class. Even instant noodles. Gah, just the thrill of it, you know? Like, you wait for the teacher to turn their back to write on the board and then...

Disliked Food

Anything bland. It's not hate, it's just... a trigger of some bad times. Washes the world out for a minute. So my motto stands, for everything: Go bold. Go bright. Never be boring.

Ideals

A dream for the future... huh. Never thought I'd get to have one of those. Let's see, if I could just have more days like today... Yeah. That's enough for me.

Chat: I

When I came to <te href=260004>Lahai-Roi</te>, all I brought with me was that acceptance letter. The one that never really had my name on it. It was a key. One that unlocked this wild, colorful dream... and all the chaos that came with it. Without it, I never would've met you or anyone else. So... I don't regret what I did. And hey, like you said—This time, this admission letter will be my own.

Chat: II

The New Federation isn't all bells and whistles. If you're a Resonator, you do what you're told. If you're a merc like I was, you do it for cash. No loyalty. No higher purpose. The only fun I had was spraying a little graffiti after a job was done.... even if I had to scrub it off two seconds later. Anyway, enough about that. So, about our rides. What's the new paint job gonna look like?

About Mornye

What do Professor Mornye and I have in common? Easy. We both hate sitting through class! So I took her for a drive one time. Total stone face the whole time, but I could tell she was loving it. The best part was the welcome committee when we got back. A whole pack of her researchers, swarming the gates like I'd just pulled a full-blown professor-napping. I mean, hello?! I kinda like my life here. And let's be real... if I were actually trying to sneak her out, nobody would've had a clue.

About Sigrika

When I first got here, Sigrika helped me get a handle on student life... She's super serious, the kind who never lets up on herself, you know? She never complains though, just bottles it all up inside. She's gonna hit a wall one day if she keeps that up... So, how about you and I... pull a little "intervention"? You know, take her out to have some real fun.

About Luuk Herssen

The first time I met Dr. Herssen at the infirmary, I got this weird feeling he could see right through me. Now I think I might've just imagined it. Anyway, the man can write a very generous doctor's note slip. I'll give him that.

About Chisa

First time I saw Chisa, I thought that quiet, intense vibe meant "keep your distance." Man, was I wrong. We clicked instantly. She took one look at my bike and knew exactly what part was malfunctioning. Way faster than any manual diagnostic I could've run! Now that's impressive...

About the Fractsidus

An organization full of crazies. Too harsh? Doesn't make it less true. I'm done with them. Really hope I won't have to deal with them ever again.

Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday! A special day calls for special plans. Consider whatever you're working on handled. I'll help you finish it later. I promised you a surprise that'd blow your mind, so we're ditching the noise. Now, hop on! We're leaving all that boring stuff in the dust. Only thing on the agenda today is you. Oh, and one last thing... you're wearing this balloon hat.
